Cheat Retreat at White Bluffs

The inaugural Cheat Retreat in January was a great success.  The next Cheat Retreat will be June 4 (Sunday) and June 5 (Monday) from 9AM to whenever.

If you crave quilting companionship, uninterrupted time to work on your projects, and if you have not been able to attend the Guild or Finley Grange retreats, White Bluffs Quilt Museum is offering an alternative - a zero-travel/low budget Quilt Till You Wilt experience.

The Museum (294 Torbett St.) will be set up with several ironing stations and design walls, it can accommodate up to 15 sewists.  There will be crock pots simmering in the kitchen; other snacks and side dishes will be potluck.

Cost is a bargain at $25/day - a fundraiser for the Museum.  Register and pay your nonrefundable fee at White Bluffs Quilt Museum or at the May Guild member meeting.

Retreat Twice A Year

Twice a year, up to 16 Tri-City quilters convene in Cove, OR with their sewing machines, UFOs, tools, gadgets, and snacks to spend some uninterrupted time sewing, laughing, and learning with friends.

The Guild books the Ascension School Camp & Conference Center usually in April and September.  Its accommodations include double rooms (two twin beds and a private bath); two are handicap accessible.

A kitchen (no stove/oven) is available to prepare uncooked meals, although 3 dinners (W/T/F) and 1 breakfast (Sunday) are included.  Cost is $80 per night and a $60 food package.  There are several eating establishments close by.

Registration for the Fall 2023 retreat is now open on a first come, first served basis.  The dates are September 19-24, 2023.  Attendance is limited so register as soon as possible.  Contact Ginny Coffman at ginnycoff@gmail.com for further information or to register.
