At the January membership meeting, Officer Trujillo, of the Kennewick Police Department, gave us a presentation on "Situational Awareness".  We learned a lot about staying safe out in public, securing our homes and property from burglary, and vandalism.  Lots of  information was common sense and was worth a reminder that we have to be alert and conscious of our surroundings, especially out in the public.  The members enjoyed his presentation very much and asked lots of questions.  At the end of the presentation, Officer Trujillo was presented with a bag of Community Service quilts.  The Kennewick Police Department is one of our Community Service recipients.

Community Service Opportunities

To enable our members in this effort the Guild offers

  • a stash of donated fabrics for piecing and backing
  • kits containing pre-cut fabrics and instructions.

In 2022, the Community Service tribe was able to donate 340 quilts.  The most we have done in a long time.

5th Tuesday Sewcials

The Community Service team is kicking off a new event, the 5th Tuesday Sewcials to support our Community Service efforts.  Members are invited to attend any month that has a 5th Tuesday.
