Workshops

The Guild tries to schedule one or two workshops a year from regional or nationally known artists.

The Guild schedules a lecture and/or trunk show for the membership meetings, followed by a workshop the next day.

If you would like to suggest an artist or topic, use the Contact form to let us know.

Katie Pedersen Workshop

Our October 20th membership meeting speaker will be Katie Pedersen of Sew Katie Did.  Katie is a Seattle modern quilting instructor, and author of the book Quilting Modern—Merging Techniques.  She will be lecturing on modern and improvisational quilts.

Katie’s first gig with Tri-City Quilters’ Guild was as Guest Artist at the 2013 quilt show — The Fizzy Mix of Fabric and Friends. She returned later, largely at the behest of the Make It Modern study group, to teach the Tipsy City Quilt.

On Tuesday, October 21st, Katie will give a workshop on Beginning Modern Quilting 101: Improvisational Triangles.  Learn precise piecing while adding whimsical improvisational triangles that can create endless designs.  You can easily design your own quilt top with your blocks or use the layouts we will play with in class.
