Potholders & Placemats

For several years guild members have been making potholders as a fundraiser.  They have been an important part of our yearly Quilt Show. The donation of potholders and the income we receive from their sales help fund our annual show. This year we would like to try adding placements for sale at the show.

Placemat Instructions: Size: 12-14” by 17-20”, as you wish. Use batting between 2 layers of cloth, which could be pieced or appliqued. Quilt the placemat at some point. Either bind the mat or use an envelope style to finish the raw edges. Please make 2 or 4 coordinating mats to donate.

Potholder instructions: Size and shape as desired (Square, rectangular, or round are options.) Please use 1 or 2 layers batting and 1 layer Insul-Bright®. Quilt your design on solid material, applique, piecework. Finish the same as placemats. Please make pairs of coordinating materials.  Insul-Bright® is free of charge from Terese Pratt. See her at an AM guild meeting, or call her at (509) 591-1973, or use your own insulating materials.

Turn in your donations, either potholders or placemats, at any Guild meeting.
